KOVEN FIELD

In 1992, long-time Harding resident, Jane Koven, made the first gift to the newly-formed Harding Land Trust. This 30-acre property is part of the Silver Brook/Pine Brook greenway and preserves one of Harding’s most scenic viewsheds.

The property includes a significant stretch of Pine Brook, which flows into the Great Swamp system. Protection of the stream corridor strengthens the protection of Harding’s water quality, a township priority. The property also includes forested uplands and wet meadow habitat, providing habitat, food, and shelter for migratory birds and other wildlife.

In addition, the property is a key part of Harding’s bridle trail network, enhancing and maintaining the rural quality of the township.
