Bridle Paths

Harding Township’s landscape and environmental history is inseparable from the tradition of horse riding. At the peak of trail usage in the mid 20th century, it was commonplace to see horses meandering through the bridle paths and on the roadways.

In the network’s current form, the extensive trail system provides linkages to Green Village, Chatham, Mendham, Basking Ridge, and Morristown for the enjoyment and access to open space. The trails are home to the Spring Valley Hounds’ Fox Hunt.

Today Harding Land Trust owns over 18 acres of bridle paths, and holds trail easements on private lands. HLT is committed to continuing to preserve the trails for future equestrian access. The trails are maintained by the Harding Township/Green Village Bridle Path Association. For more info contact them at https://bridlepath.org/trail-information/
